Reliance Jio - which happens to be screening its network - is expected to do a commercial launch of the network in the 'coming months', according to Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries Limited Chairman. Ambani is said to have recently met Telecom Secretary JS Deepak to discuss rollout packages for Reliance Jio, that has accused incumbent players of not releasing sufficient interconnection ports during its test run of services.

Micromax,Panasonic Partner RJio for Free Voice, Data Service

Micromax and Panasonic have joined with telecom services firm Reliance Jio to provide free voice and data services for 90 days and nights to smartphone buyers.

Reliance Jio, which is expected to roll out commercial services in the upcoming months, has similar offers running in partnerships with Samsung and LG.

"Under the policies of the Jio Preview Offer, consumers who purchase Micromax 4G smart devices can get Reliance Jio 4G SIM to get complementary access to infinite HD Voice, Video calling, Unlimited SMS, Unlimited High-Speed Data services, and access to Jio Apps, " Micromax Chief Marketing Officer Shubhajit Sen said.

Micromax's branch YU also said purchasers of any YU touch screen phone could possibly get free voice and data services in the trial period with immediate effect.

Panasonic India in addition has announced a similar collaboration with Reliance Jio to offer free voice and data services during the demo period.

"All our 4G/LTE devices launched in 2016 are VoLTE empowered. We believe that with Jio Preview Offer customers can experience different 4G services which are unique and driven by LTE technology, " Panasonic India Organization Head Mobility Division Pankaj Rana said.

Micromax’s YU launches Yureka S, Unique Plus: Key specifications, price and more

Micromax YU has officially launched two new smartphones in the market: Yureka S and the Yunique Plus.

Micromax’s YU brand has officially launched two new smartphones in the market: The Yureka S priced at Rs 12,999 and the Yunique Plus which will cost Rs 6,999. Both smartphones were listed on the company’s website last earlier this and their launch is now official.



Yureka S has a metal body, and YU says this phone comes with an “anodized metallic back and polycarbonate sides.” The smartphone has a 5.2-inch full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels) with a pixel density of 423 ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Yu Yureka S is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and Adreno 405 GPU. There’s 3GB RAM with 16GB internal memory (expandable to 128GB). The smartphone comes equipped with Wolfson Pure Sound and Yamaha Amplifier for enhanced sound quality. Yu Yureka S features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and HDR support. The front camera is 5MP with 84 degree wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture.

It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with company’s Around YU OS ecosystem as well. Yu Yureka S is backed by a 3,000 man battery, which offers a standby time of up to 450 hours and talktime of up to 9 hours. This is a dual SIM smartphone that comes with hybrid SIM slot. The dimensions of the smartphhone are 154.8 x 78 x 8.5 mm and it will come in a black colour variant.

Yureka S has Smart Gestures, which can be used for certain actions from locked screen itself like Open Camera, Downslide to open Gallery, left slide to open dialler. There is also a glove mode to use the phone’s screen even with gloves on.

The phone will be available across retail stores in India.



YUNIQUE Plus is the budget option which has 4.7-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2Ghz, Adreno 306 GPU with 2GB RAM and 8GB storage (expandable to 32GB). The smartphone has a 2000mAh battery.

On the camera front, YUNIQUE Plus has an 8MPAF rear camera at f/2.0 aperture and 2MP FF front camera. It also runs stock android 5.1. The price for this phone is Rs 6,999 and it will also be available across stores.
